My name is Jasmine Wood, and my husband passed away of terminal brain cancer in 2021. My dear friend Amy Cain needs help. Amy's husband Don was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2019, and I know she feels the fear and weight of all of the responsibilities of caring for her husband and her four girls---and if that isn't enough...
Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago. She had a double mastectomy and was so relieved when she didn't have to go through chemo and radiation because she needed a quick recovery so she could get back to caring for her husband who had brain cancer. And her four daughters. Flash forward to a few weeks ago---and her breast cancer has returned in the chest wall—and so after having another surgery to remove the cancer last week, chemo and radiation are likely—while also needing to still care for her husband.
IF THAT ISN'T ENOUGH, she just learned that she now has melanoma on her eyelid and has to have another surgery to remove that from her eye in the next few days. And she still has to care for her husband and family. No one should have to bear the weight all alone of caring for a husband with terminal cancer, while recovering from multiple cancer surgeries herself, not to mention the financial burden this is causing. Insurance is great, but medical bills are piling up—and with neither of them able to work the financial burden will continue to grow without asking for help.
Please consider helping this family. All funds raised will go to help pay for medical expenses for Amy and Don.
