Help with medical expenses for Jean and Bill Fink
Donation protected
Many of us in the Belfast area know Jean as a talented fiber artist and Bill as her can do anything wind beneath her sails. A few years ago they made the decision to move to T or C, New Mexico for health reasons. They soon realized it was not what they had hoped for and made the difficult decision to move on from there. It took a few years, but they found a house in Rock Falls, Illinois, a few hours away from Jean’s daughter and son-in-law in Chicago. After a difficult few years, all was looking up for them. They had driven themselves, the 3 dogs, the bird and some of their stuff to their new house. Jean stayed there and Bill, the can do anything guy, drove back to T or C to finish packing and attend the house closing. One day before the closing, while Bill was working to finish the job in T or C, Bill suffered a stroke. He was airlifted to a hospital in NM and later transported to a neurological ICU unit in El Paso, Texas. The house closing has been postponed. This all happened on April 6th and 7th. He is stable but will be needing physical and speech therapy going forward. Meanwhile, while the T or C house is still needing to be packed up and the closing rescheduled, Jean is in the house in Illinois and Bill is in the hospital in Texas. Bill, once he is ready to be moved, will need to be transported to a hospital near their new home and the logistics of finishing the closing on the T or C house will need to be worked out. All of this will mean expenses that are over and above what Jean and Bill had planned for. Janie Morrison and I are asking anyone who has known Jean and Bill through the years to consider donating to this fund to help with the unknown financial burden that they now face. Why do bad things happen to good people? We don’t know, but are thankful for the many good people out there willing to help. In gratitude, Janie and Diane
