Help With Medical Debt Related to Alyssa's Brain Injury
Donation protected
It has been almost five years since Alyssa suffered a devastating medical crisis caused by (at the time un-diagnosed) Addison’s Disease. Due to severe brain damage, she remains in a minimally conscious state in a nursing home where she requires round-the-the-clock care. She continues to receive therapy which has helped her learn how to eat and drink with assistance, minimizing her need to receive nutrition through a feeding tube. Beyond this initial progress, her condition has remained the same for the last few years. During these five years, her husband David has operated as a single parent and sole-provider while navigating regular legal and financial topics relating to Alyssa’s extensive care needs. While a portion of her care is covered by insurance, a significant portion has fallen on David. Over the years, despite already generous donations and his own financial depletion, the medical debt has accumulated to $225,000. As friends and family, we are hoping to raise funds to help pay down this debt so that David doesn’t have to continue carrying this burden on his own. Thank you for your generosity.
