My name is Kyle Fitzgerald, and I’ve lived with a inherited kidney disease called Mucin-1. It’s a rare degenerative disease that causes your kidneys to fail prematurely. I was on dialysis for 2.5 years. And I was diagnosed with Mucin-1 in 2016. My mother suffered from it, as well as my sister.

While I do have Medicare and some private insurance, there are medical costs that won’t be covered. Post transplant requires me to stay near the hospital for daily doctor visits and test, this can be up to a month. So my care team has a air bnb.

this go fund me would also help with other expenses like food or gas.

More about me: I am very active. I ride mountain bikes almost everyday and worked regularly. I love to get to know people on a deep level and keep good friends very close. Other than the kidney issue, I’m very healthy and fit. I eat very healthy and drink rarely. I do not smoke.
