Our 10 year old granddaughter Aiyana was seriously injured in a skiing accident last night in Wyoming. She struck a tree breaking both her Tibia and Fibula bones just below her knee. She also suffered a punctured lung and five compound fractures in her spine. She was taken by ambulance to Buffalo, Wyoming, and then transferred by ambulance to Sheridan. Today, she was airlifted to Denver Children's Hospital. She will be undergoing surgery to repair her leg. The extent of her spinal fractures are still unknown at this time. Any help for the family would be greatly appreciated to help pay extensive medical and transport bills.
As of this morning Ana is in pain, but resting. An assessment of her spinal injuries shows the bleeding from her vertebrae had stopped and they along with assessments from other Doctors agree not to operate now, possibly later in life if problems arise. She was able to get out of bed and stand for a very short time this morning.
