Help with medical bills and unpaid leave

Hi, my name is Sally, and I am fundraising for my sister, Megan. Those of you that know Megan know she is as selfless as they come. She would do anything for anyone in need without question. Megan is an incredible person, friend, aunt, sister, and daughter.

A little over a month ago, Megan started feeling sick. She went to her doctor a few times, tried a couple of rounds of different antibiotics, but unfortunately, she kept getting worse.

By the time two weeks had gone by, Megan had such unbearable stomach pain, trouble breathing, and lethargy, she could barely function enough to go from her bedroom to the bathroom. The day before she finally went into the ER, she had lymph nodes in her arms swollen up to the size of baseballs.

Since then, Megan has been to numerous doctors and specialists to discover what is happening. She has blood clots in both lungs, swollen lymph nodes, extreme tiredness, joint aches, headaches, a hard time keeping food and liquid down, and she has a hard time concentrating and remembering things.

The doctors are currently at a loss as to what is causing this debilitating illness. She is continuing to have tests run and blood drawn to try to find a cause. To say that Megan is not currently the same person she was a month ago is truly an understatement.

The newest update this morning (August 26) was that she is now coughing up blood clots and is headed back to the ER.

Her primary doctor [rdered her out of work for at least the next 60 days. She is currently applying for FMLA leave, but most, if not all, of that leave will be unpaid. Her medical bills from the hospital, tests, and specialists are all mounting as well and will be significant.

Please consider contributing to my sister to help her through this time so she can focus on recovering, instead of how she will pay her bills the next few months.
