Help with Medical Bills and Standing wheelchair
Donation protected
My Brother was in a dirt bike accident 23 years ago. He had Surgery on his 18th birthday and we found out he was paralyzed from the waist down. It was a very hard adjustment for everyone. I know there were many times I cried I wanted to help him but he was so independent he would not allow it. He amazes me everyday, he does not let his disability get in the way of anything. He goes hunting, drives, works you name it he does it. He's been pretty fortunate with his health until 2 months ago he noticed a foul smell and pain on his backside. He went to the ER and they told him he had a pretty bad sore and needed to see a wound specialist. They tried talking care of it but he was told he needed surgery so he saw a plastic surgeon who agreed. Surgery was scheduled and while there they told him his blood sugar was so high and he is diabetic. Surgery went well but he can't sit in his chair for more than 2 hrs at a time. Fast forward 3: weeks he goes in for a follow up and is told he needs another surgery and is also told he can't go back to work for at least 6 months unless he can get a wheelchair that allows him to stand. If the insurance approves the chair he will still be responsible for 5000 out of pocket. On top of the cost of his insulin and only working minimal hours. Brian does not like asking people for help which is why I have decided to create this page. Please donate if you can and if you can't please share. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
