Earlier this year, I found myself in a situation I never imagined. I was unemployed and, just 24 hours before, had lost my health insurance. In a moment of deep struggle, I purposely overdosed on my mental health medication. I want to be honest about my journey: I died, but was brought back thanks to the quick actions of those around me. Since then, I have worked hard to understand what led me there and realized that what I truly wanted was relief, not to end my life. Recovery has been a long road, but I am grateful to be here and to have a second chance.
Unfortunately, the aftermath has been overwhelming. The hospital stay and follow-up care left me with significant medical bills, and because I was unable to pay, my account was sent to collections. I have always tried to handle things on my own, but this time, I need help. Any funds received will go directly toward paying off these medical bills. If there is any extra, I promise to pay it forward to others in need, just as I hope for kindness now.
I absolutely hate to ask for help, but here I am, reaching out to this community. Thank you, beautiful human and/or humans! Unless you’re an extraterrestrial, then still, thank you. Your support means more than I can express.
