We are starting a GoFundMe because I fell off a ladder in the garage onto concrete on December 22nd, 2025. The only time in my life I have been without insurance. So far, we have the hospital bill; I was there for 3 days, $69,978.99. I am still waiting for the bill for the surgeon and anesthesiologist. I also have the bill for the ambulance, which is $2,285.08.

When I fell, I broke both bones in my leg, and they came through the front of my leg, so a compound fracture. I also broke my ankle in 3 places and my foot. I have 4 screws in my ankle, two on each side, a rod in my leg, and also more screws up higher in the leg.

I do not have savings to pay for this. My job did not provide insurance, so I had none. On a positive note, I have a new job, and it provides insurance, which I am going to need when rehab starts in February. The surgeon's instructions are 6 weeks with no weight on the leg.
