Hi friends, My mom, Juli, has been undergoing cancer treatment for a while, and it's been tough. Recently she has been struggling with various illnesses and needs extra medical care and appointments. She has been experiencing a severe infection spreading, causing extreme pain. The appointments and treatments are becoming extensive. She is on a liquid diet as it is too painful to open her mouth and chew. Amid this challenging time, her household's only vehicle used for transportation to appointments, picking up prescriptions, and buying groceries had the catalytic converter stolen. The car is currently not functioning until the repair can be completed. Because her insurance doesn't cover the repair, it must be paid out of pocket. Currently, she uses Uber to go to appointments, which is costly. All these expenses and medical needs have caused a burden on my mom, brother, and stepdad, who are already struggling. The money raised would cover the cost of the vehicle repair, rideshare costs until the repair is complete, and money for groceries. I have supported her as much as possible, but it's not enough. Update:

As of 6/1, the infection was misdiagnosed and is actually a cancerous tumor in her sinuses. After several days in the hospital undergoing painful tests and treatments, my mom is out of the hospital and home.

Unfortunately, the cancer has metastasized, but she is beginning new, stronger immunotherapy treatments and radiation to hopefully shrink the tumor in the sinuses, as it’s causing chronic pain. 

The radiation will be completed daily for 3 weeks, and we really need to get the car fixed asap. Anything helps.

Update: As of 6/28

The car has been repaired, and Mom is home and responding well to the treatments. It has been really rough on her body, but she is staying strong. We have nurses and PT/OT who come to the house to help her, and my stepdad, brother, myself, and wife have been working to make sure she's taken care of. Doctors have postponed the radiation therapy and are instead treating her with a chemo/immunotherapy combination of drugs. Hopefully, the next PET scan in August will show positive results.

The next steps are to purchase some medical supplies for mobility and treat her wounds and purchase furniture to make it easier to get around with her new restrictions and oxygen tank. She is on a soft foods diet and needs meals prepared as well, which we are helping with.
