Help with Mazzone & Schmecko Funeral
Donation protected
To whomever is reading this,
First off we (the Mazzone's and Schmecko's) would like to say thank you for being here and supporting us through this difficult time. All the emails, texts, phone calls, and meals provided to us have been so greatly appreciated as we grieve the loss of a an amazing son, friend, husband, father and grandfather. We also would like to say thank you to all the nurses and doctors that helped us at INOVA Loudoun Hospital.
Damiano Mazzone lived the life he wanted while he was with us. He loved gardening, baking, building, and growing his relationship with our God, Jehovah, everyday he was here. He helped build several Kingdom Halls and made donations to the organization frequently to support his brothers and sisters nearby and around the world.
He had married the love of his life, Mildred Ferrara, at the age of twenty-four. They were able to spend a lovely sixty years together and in that time they had four great kids. Two girls and two boys. Lenora, Vincenzo, Cynthia and Carmine. They were fortunate enough to watch all four of them grow up and move forward with their lives. Both of his daughters had blessed him with four grandchildren that he loved dearly and put all of his energy into spoiling with bread, cookies, and pizza.
Damiano, was able to spend the last eighteen months of his life with his oldest daughter, Lenora, son-in-law, Marc, and two of the four grandchildren, Isabella and Francesca, in a house that he came to love. He was very happy to be so close to his family and be with his wife during the pandemic as well. There was never a time where he was not smiling or laughing with us.
Damiano, passed away on the evening of Tuesday January 4th, 2022 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Va at the age of 84. As we prayed, he passed peacefully and was not alone when he took his last breath. We all miss him dearly and are mourning the loss of such an incredible man.
Any donations made will be greatly appreciated and will help with funeral and memorial expenses, as well as,
the travel needed to put Damiano to rest where he wanted in Upstate New York.
