Mayah, my blue heeler, was my best friend and loyal companion since she was just 6 weeks old. She brought so much joy and love into my life, and she got me through a lot of tough times. I always hoped she would have many more years by my side. On 12/12, Mayah suffered a sudden spinal stroke that left her paralyzed from mid-back down. Her left leg was completely paralyzed, and her right leg was only partially functioning. The vets told me that an MRI and surgery could have helped, but the costs were far beyond what I could afford, and the chances of recovery were only 50/50. I was faced with an impossible decision, and because I couldn’t afford the treatment, I had to say goodbye to her far too soon.

Losing Mayah has been absolutely heartbreaking. She would have turned 9 on 12/22, and I miss her every day. The costs of her emergency care and treatment have added up quickly, and I’m reaching out for help to cover her vet bills. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to me as I try to honor Mayah’s memory and take care of these expenses.
