After a very short, but hard fought battle with COVID-19 , Manny Cui has passed away. He was a beloved and prominent member of the Cui family and in his community in Angeles City, Philippines. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Los Angeles for over 20 years and has been happily retired in the Philippines for the past 10 years. He loved to laugh and make other's laugh, an extremely friendly soul.
During his battle with COVID-19 he fought hard and was at two different hospitals, he was in the ICU at the last one. Unfortunately, he didn't have medical insurance or life insurance in the Philippines due to his age and high premiums, so now we are already having to deal with upfront medical expenses that are extremely high. In the Philippines they don't bill you and hope you pay, you have to pay upfront. At best you can put up assets as collateral.
Expenses breakdown:
• 1st Hospital Testing Evaluation: $1,500
• 2nd Hospital ICU and Intubation: $5,000
• Funeral and Memorial Expenses: $3,500
Total: $10,000
After we reach the goal, I or one of my capable brothers, will be directly sending the money to family in the Philippines to handle the payments.
Any amount that you could spare would add up and be greatly appreciated.
The deepest and sincerest gratitude from the Cui family.
