Hi, my name is Angela Han Santos. I am the sister-in-law of Adelyn Cabbat. On behalf of Adelyn and her family, I am organizing this Go Fund Me to assist her mother’s medical expenses.

My sister in law’s mom, Mamalu, is a loving, devoted mother of 4 and grandmother of 12. Those of you who know Mamalu, know that she is –above everything—probably the most selfless and caring person you have ever met. For those of you who do not know her, Mamalu is very hard working, cheerful to everyone she crosses paths with, always willing to help others and knows everyone in her community.

Yesterday, Mamalu had a heart attack while at home. She was rushed to a general hospital in Quezon City, Philippines. Unfortunately, the Intensive Care Unit was closed due to renovations, so the hospital is contacting other hospitals to find a bed. Mamalu is currently on a gurney, outside of the hospital, awaiting to be transferred. She has been waiting in the triage tent outside for more than 15 hours.

In the Philippines, COVID-19 is still not well controlled, so hospital bed availability is limited, and many patients needing care have been waiting for hours and even days in the parking lot.

Currently, she is having shortness of breath, unstable blood pressure and her pulse oximeter has been fluctuating from 40% to 60%, which is alarmingly low. Her heart is enlarged due to her heart being overworked. She has a nasogastric tube in place and will also need respiratory support.

We pray Mamalu is able to recover and spend more time with her loved ones and continue celebrating her life.

The current ongoing medical expenses is overwhelmingly high for her family to shoulder. Any contribution to help with Mamalu’s recovery is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. We thank you for your generosity, prayers & positive messages.
