Hello! We are Bob, Ren, and our cat Mae.

Short version, we are looking for assistance for our beloved cat, Mae for her medical bills since she has been diagnosed with cancer. She likely will not recover from this and while we are still grieving this fact we want to ensure she is comfortable and take every action to keep her here with us for as long as we possibly and morally can.

Long version, we are a small family living here in San Antonio Texas. Our cat Mae Has had ear problems ever since she was a cute little orange bean and picked up ear mites 13 years ago. Flash forward to a few months ago, we took Mae in to the vet for an uptick in ear scratching and possible infection. It turned out to be a polyp was causing an infection and had to be removed. The surgery was a success and the polyp was sent to be tested. A week later we received a call from the Vet saying the polyp tested positive for cancer and was malignant, meaning it could spread. The vet discussed expecting the worst outcome as she is 13 years old and chances of success lower with age and type of cancer. Still, he recommended us to an oncology vet, so that’s where we are. Bob is the primary money earner along with a 40 hour work, runs a local workers union, and does odd jobs to attempt to make ends meet. Ren, being disabled, is currently embroiled in the US legal system to attempt to get govt. assistance, but still takes on small jobs when possible. Mae, outside of looking exceedingly cute, and our emotional companion through every stage of out last 13 years, cant bring in a kitty income. Times are hard, made harder still by current times. We try hard we help our friends out in our various communities as we can in any way that we can. Now comes the hard part for us. We are asking for help for our cat. Ren and Bob are both stubborn and don’t like asking for help from others. In fact, when both of us started telling the story of what happened in our communities, and folks reached out and said they desire to help monetarily, we didn’t expect it. To be perfectly clear, there is a high chance she won’t recover and this will be terminal. We want to make this abundantly clear from the jump. We don’t know how long she has left and since the diagnosis we have been celebrating little things like Mae cuddled us before we went to sleep last night, Mae greeted me today, Mae has been cuddling me for hours today, so on and so forth. We have cried and grieved because we know the end is coming faster than what we would like. Our companion, our child, will be leaving us soon. We cant offer much outside of stories of Mae being a very cute cat with STRONG BOUNDARIES (also read as SPICIER THAN HABANERO). What we need would be help with her medication, doctors’ visits (usually they have to knock her out because of how how spicy she is and that costs extra) and ultimately we'd like to keep her with us after she passes and cremate her. For those choosing to be a part of this journey with us financially know from the bottom of our hearts every single dollar will go towards her in some capacity or another and we from the bottom of our hearts thank you for your kindness.
