Help with liposuction surgery for lipo-lymphoedema
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Klaudia and I’m fundrising for my liposuction surgery. I have been diagnosed with both lipoedema and lymphoedema in October 2024.
A little about lipoedema and lymphoedema:
- both conditions involve abnormal fluid buildup in the body
- Lipoedema is a chronic condition characterized by the abnormal accumulation of fat in the lower body, leading to pain, swelling, and tenderness in the legs, thighs, and buttocks
- Lymphoedema results from a compromised lymphatic system, causing fluid buildup and swelling
- both lead to skin changes and infections if left untreated
I’m keeping on top of managing my condition; compression garments, feet elevation, exercise, diet, self massage, dry brushing and drinking plenty water.
Liposuction can be a helpful treatment, as it targets the abnormal fat deposits that cause swelling, discomfort, and disproportionate body shape. Unlike regular fat, the fat associated with lipoedema does not respond well to diet or exercise. This procedure can reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance the body’s shape and symmetry.
