Help with Life saving treatment for Bob Smukula

Hi, my name is Karen, and I am fundraising for my dad. What we now know is Crohn's disease, took down my normally very healthy dad & brought him to death's door within a matter of weeks. He was admitted to the hospital 75 days ago, soon after he lost his ability to eat, drink, swallow & speak! By July 1st he was in complete respiratory failure & in the ICU. He was transferred to a University hospital in Chicago a few days later and remains there still. Even though he has finally stabilized enough to begin his treatments, he is very weak and has a long recovery ahead. Crohn's is a condition that will require medical care and treatment for the rest of his life. My parents are retired and on a very fixed income. The money we raise will go towards any outstanding medical bills they may incur, prescriptions, travel expenses for Dr appointments, specialized diet....My hope is that this fundraiser will ease any financial burden my dad may feel from this event and allow him to focus solely on healing so we can bring him home!! He is a loving, selfless man who always helps anyone he can: neighbors, friends, family, even strangers, and now we would really like to help him.
