Help With Legal Fees to Protect My Family

Update: I have been able to retain a lawyer and have lowered my goal for now. This could become costly but wanted to keep it 100% real with everyone. This is what we need to start.

I’m reaching out as a father in the most difficult season I’ve ever walked through. Many of you already know the struggles my daughter Kaylee and I have faced over the past eighteen months. After a traumatic incident on Easter 2024 and her subsequent diagnoses of PTSD and Autism, Kaylee has refused to return to her mother’s home. Her stepmother and I have been focused entirely on her healing, stability, and safety. Instead of working together for Kaylee’s well-being, my ex is now taking me to court—and is seeking 21 years of jail time as punishment.

I was recently told that I will need a minimum of $10,000 to secure legal representation before my first court date on January 2. As her father, and with her stepmother standing firmly beside me, our only desire is to protect Kaylee and act in her best interest. We have never stopped fighting for her healing or her future.

This situation comes at a time when my wife has been diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease. Because of her illness and upcoming surgery, she cannot work full time. My income is stretched thin across every medical bill and living expense we face. I simply do not have the ability to cover the legal fees required to defend myself—and protect my daughter.

This is the only Christmas request I am making: help me secure a lawyer so I can continue to be the father Kaylee needs.

Our faith teaches us to call on the name of Jesus in times of trouble (1 Corinthians 1:2), and also to call on the church for prayer, support, and wisdom, just as James 5:14 instructs. God surrounds us with people who sharpen one another (Proverbs 27:17) and reminds us that we, as believers, are called to be His hands and feet—serving, supporting, and lifting up those in need (Matthew 25:40). The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20) calls us to embody the love of Christ through action.

With that in mind, I’m asking for prayer—and for help.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward legal fees so I can protect Kaylee and continue advocating for her safety and well-being. If God provides more than what is needed, even if it’s just a few pennies, those funds will go toward mental-health care for both Kaylee and her sister Abby, including ongoing PTSD therapy they both rely on.

Your prayers, donations, and shares mean more than I can express. You are helping carry a burden that has grown too heavy for me to carry alone. Your support reflects Christ’s compassion, and it reminds us that we are not walking this valley by ourselves.

Thank you for your love, your support, and your prayers. God is faithful, and I believe He will guide us through this storm.
