As many in the community know, at the December NCLUSD School Board meeting, Teacher and community member Hardy Reeves, stood up and spoke to the board about the actions of some during the process of hiring a new Superintendent for the district. After, many people spoke about him being brave enough to say how many in the community and district were feeling. He was thanked and was told how many people backed what he said. At the meeting, he also spoke of the backlash and consequences he might get because of being willing to stand up for what he and many others felt was wrong.

Now he needs our support! On Saturday January 20th, he was served and is being sued for Defamation of Character by one of the parties he mentioned at the meeting for over 3 Quarters of a million dollars. This is requiring him to get a lawyer who specializes in these types of cases, of which there are none in the area. He found one that said they will take the case in San Francisco but needs $25,000 for a retainer. He now only has 20 days left to come up with it so they can answer the complaint or they win. He has been able to come up with some but as his friends we are hoping the community that thanked him, would be willing to help him out. Any amount you could give would be appreciated. All donations will go towards his legal fees. Let’s show him how this community comes together to support each other and that he’s not in this alone!!
