Dollars for Dontae’
Donation protected
February 13, 2022, our town was yet again rocked by another tragedy. Our Wolverine, Kesean (Dontae’) Wilson was involved in a near fatal car accident. At 16 years old, this young man has now been through 2 nearly fatal events. On September 30, 2018, Kesean almost lost his life in a drowning accident. Kesean is currently in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Prisma Health Richland after he was ejected from the vehicle he was driving. The staff at Prisma is taking wonderful care of him. Kesean has suffered a broken femur, a fractured pelvis, a broken foot, heart and lung contusions and brain trauma. Kesean is still sedated on a ventilator to give his brain time to heal. Along with his extensive ICU stay, Kesean will need to go to inpatient rehabilitation therapy for an unspecified length of time to recover from his brain injury. The family will need help during this stressful time. Kesean’s mother, La’Keisha, is a nursing student at Piedmont Technical College and only works part time while she is in school. Kesean’s recovery will be hard and expensive. The family is looking at an out of pocket cost of $30-50,000 for Keseans therapy. Let’s do what we can to relieve the family of some of this stress during this very emotional time. Donations, prayers, and shares are welcome.
