My wonderful wife, Kelly is a supportive mom to our kids and an active member of the Athabasca community (especially minor hockey). Normally. For now, she needs to focus on recovering so she can come home from the hospital.
After having issues with exhaustion then breathing, Kelly was admitted to the Athabasca hospital the night of April 9, 2021. Covid-19 nearly took her from our family but thanks to the air medivac crew and the ICU team at Grey Nuns Hospital, we are blessed that she is on the long path to recovery due to a stroke. I am very grateful that Kelly is no longer in ICU as I am now able to be with her most of the day. Our kids eagerly await the day they can hug her rather than just FaceTime. I am fortunate to have a supportive employer and job security which is one less worry.
As Kelly will need to be in hospital for an extended time followed by a rehabilitation center, I will be staying in a nearby hotel and the kids will come to visit on weekends. Once the time comes that Kelly gets to go home, she will need an adjustable bed. Hotel and the bed are two large expenses that I know about, I’m sure there will be others along the way. I know during these difficult times it’s a big ask to open your hearts for a donation, please know that your help is appreciated.
