On Saturday July 17th 2021, at 2:22pm Kayli got her angel wings and took flight.
Kayli was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on April 14th 2019. She was going monthly to treatments for her leukemia and was due to be in remission on September 10th 2021.
Due to Kayli's Chemotherapy treatments, her immune system was weakened and left her susceptible to bacteria in the blood stream resulting in Septic shock. On Thursday July 8th 2021 Kayli was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Rainbow Babies and Children hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. During her unfortunate stay in the (PICU) she was still showing positive improvements, although being put in a sedated state on a ventilator, she was still showing positive vibes and fighting on. Friday the 16th we were notified that all tests came back and she was cancer free! Yes cancer free!!! We were so excited and could not wait to tell her when she was taken off the sedation. We are very hopeful that during her sedated state that she heard us telling her that she was cancer free.
Now cancer free!, we head into Saturday morning on July 17th excited and with high hopes, and that's when Kayli took an unexpected turn for the worst, which started as a high fever. During these episodes Kaylis amazing heart could not take the stress that was being placed on it from the constant fighting of infections and for her life, and she ultimately passed away, with her family beside her. The PICU staff tried everything to keep her alive including chest compressions for over an hour, and although they were working as hard as the could to save our baby, there was nothing more they could do for her and at 2:22pm heaven gained another angel :(
We know that Kayli is in a better place now and is no longer fighting the battle and feeling the pain that was placed upon her. If Kayli would want anybody to know anything, it would be the love she had for her baby sister that she wanted for over 11 years. Her baby Sister Cheyanne was so blessed to have had the time to learn to Swim, Dance and play basketball all because of her big sis!
We want to provide Kayli, our baby with the best possible funeral we can, and we are asking for your help to give her the funeral that she deserves. Being that this outcome was so unexpected as she was making great improvements a funeral was the last thing we were planning on, we were planning on bringing her home! to her Family, Friends, Pets and most importantly to her Baby sister.
Funeral Is planned for Friday July 23rd from 4pm - 7pm with service at 7pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home
