Hi all! My name’s Kai (they/them). Although asking for help has never been very easy for me, I am hoping to find some support from my community.

I have spent my whole life feeling gender dysphoria. I thought coming to terms with my transness and nonbinary gender identity would solve everything for me, but the physical dysphoria is something that I continue to struggle with. The multiple lockdowns over the past two years have given me the chance to do some serious reflecting and finally I feel brave enough to get top surgery, something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember.

I can’t wait to finally take this massive step ! And even though I’m lucky enough to have provincial health insurance cover the cost of surgery, I’m making this go fund me to ask my friends and community for help with the cost of recovery.

I live with my partner and our fur children in Toronto. As a service industry worker, COVID has caused financial difficulties for me, as it has with so many. As I will now need to take 3 weeks off of work to recover, I am hoping my allies will help me by donating or by sharing this go fund me. All of the money that I raise will be used to cover the cost of medications and help my partner with the cost of rent, bills and groceries
