Hello, my name is Justin Viray. I am 25 years old and in July 2024 I was diagnosed with stage 4 Classic Hodgkins Lymphoma. What was supposed to be a routine doctors check up, turned into a nightmare. I had a 13cm cancerous mass in my chest cavity. My life was changed, it was going to be a fight like nothing me or my family have fought before. As heartbreaking and tragic as the news was, my family and I took it on the chin. With guidance and care from amazing doctors/teams, the next 8 months would consist of; 6 rounds of chemo therapy, constant blood work, pet scans rountinely, and 23 treatments of radiation/proton therapy. This is all not to mention the medical misfortunes, visitations to the ER, and procedures done in between and after all my treatments. I basically lived in the hosptial. On March 11th 2025 I did what I thought was impossible, I completed all of my treatments and beat cancer! Although I am now in remission, another fight that has come along with this journey is the fight against medical bills. On top of not being able to work, treatment wasnt cheap! As I stand here today, in remission and reflecting on this challenging journey, I want to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who has supported me. To the friends, family, and even strangers who offered their encouragement, prayers, and love, I couldn’t have come this far without you. Your contributions, whether through words of encouragement, financial support, or simply being by my side, have made all the difference. As I continue to heal and move forward, I will forever be grateful for the strength, compassion, and generosity you have all shown me. Anything helps!
