Help with Jo's care giving

Hi, this is one of the hardest things I have had to do. I have to ask for help. I have tried to keep it together for three years now. I'm finally at the point where I need to ask our friends and loved ones for help.

Some of you may not even know what is going on. Joanne had to take a Medical retirement in 2019 she was having trouble writting reports and we didnt know why. In July 2019 we finally got an answer. Joanne was diagnosed with Frontal Temprol Lobe Dementia. (FTD). This is not the same dementia when you think of a grandparent. This disease effects her Speech, her writing, reading and decision making. She understand what you are saying to her and can follow directions. I encourage you to look up this disease it's heart breaking. There is no cure, its a progressive disease. The decline in the last three years have been rough. Joanne was hospitalized in September. Her neurologists thinks she was having mini seizures. She is now on medication to control this. Eventually the end comes because she will forget how to swallow.

Joanne needs care she can no longer be at home alone. She needs help with her meals, bathing care with personal needs. And above all supervision. Her body is still so active but, her brain is not there.

I have been relying on friends for care as I work. I have been off work with a knee replacement so, I have been providing the care. I want her to be able to stay in our home but the will require in home care. I'm talking to a eldercare lawyer to check on Medicare and what will be covered. We don't have long term care insurance.
