Help with Johnny's Medical Bills
Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Sandy Thao, and Johnny Thao is my older brother.
On Sunday night, 2/6/2022, Johnny drove to work in Sun Prairie, WI, in icy weather conditions when he drove over ice and lost control of his car. He spun out and hit the guard railing. If the guard railing weren't there when this happened, he wouldn't be here with us today. The EMTs and Fire Department arrived at the scene and had to cut the roof of his car to extract him. As a result of this dangerous car accident, he severely fractured his pelvis and left arm.
Johnny had an 8-hour surgery on 2/7/2022 to fix his fractured pelvis and realign it with his spine. He has some post-op pain but is conscious and doing well. He will receive a 2nd surgery for his fractured left arm. His medical care team has determined that he will be in rehab for at least a year to recover and get back on his feet.
Johnny has a generous and welcoming heart. If you know him, he's a friendly giant teddy bear and a ray of sunshine when you're having a cloudy day. He always has a positive outlook on things, even when everything points in the wrong direction. Many love Johnny and never hesitate to reciprocate that affection back to his friends and family. In addition, he's selfless and is never reluctant when it comes to lending a helping hand. Volleyball, gaming, and spending time with his friends and family are just a few of the many things that he enjoys in life.
My family and I want to get a few steps ahead in financially preparing for his medical bills and recovery journey. This process will not be easy for us, especially Johnny, but we will trust the process whatever this unknown path has before him.
We are not expecting donations towards his medical bills, although my family and I would greatly appreciate it. A share of this fundraiser and keeping Johnny & his family in your thoughts and prayers is all we ask for.
Thank you.
