Dear friends, family and perhaps those I’ve never met:

I’ve been on a journey with cancer for the past 2 and a half years. Without a doubt, it’s been one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to face, challenging me on every level – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I’ve been forced to contemplate things I never expected to be dealing with at my age – especially my own mortality.

Trying everything I could – including both conventional and alternative treatments has not successfully healed the cancer (yet ) as I’m currently dealing with a very aggressive recurrence.

A little bit of history: I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in early 2023 and had a hysterectomy in July of that year. I elected not to do any conventional treatments, other than the surgery, at that time. In August of 2024 a CT revealed metastasis to my lymphatic system, with 4 nodes enlarged. In response, I chose chemotherapy and completed 6 treatments in January of this year. Although things had improved significantly, there were still 2 lymph nodes that were slightly enlarged; however, my Oncologist felt it best to continue with just the immunotherapy, which I did.

My next 3-month scan revealed that although the nodes were now normal, it appeared that my left ovary was rather enlarged. At a surgery to take out my ovaries in June, what was found was an enormous tumor that couldn’t be removed because of its size and vascular involvement. The mass is also adhered to my left pelvic wall, colon and bladder. Not great news. I’ve recently re-started chemotherapy (had 1 session) and will also be doing radiation at some point, depending on how I respond to treatment.

As you might expect, this diagnosis and the treatments I’ve undertaken have completely decimated my financial situation. In addition, I’ve been feeling very ill, and it’s affected my ability to work – and quite honestly, my ability to function at all. I’m currently self-employed, and so there is no one to pick up the slack with my clients; and I don’t really have a support system to assist in doing life things.

This is why I’m reaching out to ask for some help, which is difficult for me. I prefer to be more private about things like this, and I almost never ask for help, even when I really need it. So, here’s to changing that pattern!

A brief list of what your contributions will be used for:
• To help with ongoing medical expenses, including alternative therapies, perhaps a healing retreat, and supplements to support my healing.
• To provide a bit of a financial cushion and to meet regular monthly expenses, which has been a challenge.
• To allow me to get some help with life things – like cleaning and cooking - that have been difficult for me to do for myself.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to anyone willing to contribute to my GoFundMe campaign. Thank you so much for your generosity and support!! I’ve attached a picture of myself with my cat Gatsby. He’s my lovely support being – although he sucks at doing the dishes.

With Love,
Jennifer
