This past summer, I experienced two massive seizures that resulted in the loss of four of my front upper teeth and a severely fractured upper jaw. I've been working with an oral surgeon to plan a procedure to reconstruct my upper jaw and do bone grafts. Unfortunately, my medical and dental insurances cannot be used for this type of procedure and I've been unable to find a surgeon who will accept my Humana Medicare. This is a medical emergency and without these procedures, I risk further complications such as infection and necrosis. I need $11K for the reconstruction and implants. I wanted to update everyone on me finally reaching my Phase 1 procedure which requires a $3500 payment on the day of the procedure which is March 8th. I still have a long way to go. After Phase 1, I will need between 6-9 months of full recovery before I qualify for the implant surgery.
