Hi my names Lydia, I’m raising money for housing costs as I’m current rough sleeping.

Does anyone know of any private property bond and first month rent schemes?? Currently sleeping rough but found a private rented property which I’ve been offered but the council has refused to pay the bond and rent because I’m only entitled to shared accommodation rate but I’m not due to being in a DV relationship in the past and apparently I wouldn’t be able to afford it but the rents £550pcm (cheapest I’ve seen in a while) because I’m under 35. It’s absolutely ridiculous, they’ve offered no other accommodation after refusing me for it either, don’t know what to do! It’s ridiculous, been on Bassetlaw council since 2023 and I’m in band F, not been eligible for 1 property in 3 years, now I’ve finally found somewhere private what they told me to do and they won’t help with that either!! Just going round in circles with them, being passed from housing worker to housing worker getting no where!

a few people had told me to make a gofund me to help with the costs, something I wouldn’t usually do but I’m desperate, I don’t know who to turn to or what to do next!
