Recently, I was hospitalized with a severe gastrointestinal virus. I spent the night in the hospital, hooked up to IVs, receiving fluids and antibiotics, and having blood drawn over and over. It was a frightening experience to go through alone. The insurance I have through work is the cheapest I could afford, but it doesn’t cover hospital bills. Most of my paycheck disappears into rent and bills, and I’m left with barely anything for food or gas. Now, these hospital bills are piling up, and I feel overwhelmed, scared, and alone, not knowing how I’ll manage to pay them or keep up with my other expenses.

The funds raised here will go directly toward paying off these hospital bills. If there is anything left over, it will help me cover my regular bills or be set aside as an emergency fund. Having that cushion would mean so much to me, especially if I ever find myself in a similar situation again.
