Help with Home Relocation

I have been working with the school district for 10 years and has been diligently walking the halls of Helms Elementary School for the past 5 years.

I was impaced by Hurricane Harvey, like so many other Houstonians. For the last 4 years, I have been working tirelessly to find solutions to be able to put my home back together. I applied for the City's home repair program, but the program was slow-moving and ultimately did not provide any assistance. I have been in the General Land Office's (GLO) home repair program for over a year. Again, the slow-moving program full of barriers and difficult requirements has continued to leave me living in a disaster-impacted home with my grandchildren.

The process of home repair is far from over. I was finally approved by the GLO program in December and I now need to ask for your help. While I wait for the final damage assessments to be fulfilled and the city permits issued, I must pack up and store my entire household while finding housing for my family during the construction period. I am hopeful that the process will not take more than 6 months, but my experience proves that this may take much longer than that.

I will be utilizing all donations for the relocation of my family. I am extremely appreciative for all the help and support I have received from family, friends, and strangers alike.
