Help with school tuition for this bright star

Hello. My name is Kevin Leonard, and this is a photo of my son Carter.
In 2022, Carter graduated middle school. My wife and I didn't think he'd flourish in our local public high school, so we sought out, applied, got accepted and enrolled him in a nearby Christian private high school.
With the smaller class sizes and attention to his learning style, Carter performed amazingly well. At the end of his 2022-2023 Freshman year, he had all As and Bs. He had become members of the Art Club, the Game Club and the Bowling Team.
To help put this appeal into context, my wife and I were both gainfully employed and were able to pay out-of-pocket for his Freshman year tuition, Last fall my wife, an interior designer, was laid off. I am a graphic design teacher and due to a technical error, I won't be teaching at the same university this fall which makes it impossible to pay for Carter's tuition ourselves this year.
Although we've applied for, and received 2 scholarships totaling $2,500, we will still be $8,800 short for the year.
Being unemployed and work deficient has made everything from paying our mortgage to putting food on the table difficult, but God willing, and hopefully we'll be able to hustle and make ends meet. We can't "hope" for our son's education and future … we have to be sure.
I've never asked people I don't know for help but I'm asking now because I would and will do anything for my son. Carter wants to one day be a toy designer. Specifically a Lego designer. He's talked about it since he began playing with Legos when he was a small boy. I think our current financial and employment situation is an inconvenient and untimely bump in the road that – in time– we'll get past. It's not the first one and probably won't be the last. It is the first bump in the road we've faced that would impact our son't education and future.
Every dime of what we raise will be spent on Carter's tuition. If we raise more than what we ask for, the rest will go toward his Junior year tuition.
Thank you for reading our story, and thank you in advance for your help.
Respectfully,
Kevin Leonard & Family
