Help with high deductible for emergency surgery.

Dear Friends & Family,

It’s a new year and time for a NEW surgery. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!

This is the surgery that me and my Doctor were trying to put off for as long as we possibly could. I had no idea it would be this soon. But about 3-weeks ago, my balance started getting wonky again. I was using my cane one day and stepped back to open a glass door and lost my balance and stumbled back and hit my head on a glass wall. Praise God there was no injury to my head or neck and from the neck operation I just had in February.

A few days after the fall I started having problems with my legs, mainly my left leg. It soon basically stopped working and I could not walk without a walker. I could not go up or downstairs by myself. I spent 36hrs at Emory where they ran every test imaginable and found that L3, L4 and L5 are pressing against my spinal cord and the mild stenosis I had last year has become severe. As some of you may remember, I had major surgery on my back in 2013. He will be going back in some of the same area so it’s not going to be easy and he will need to do a fusion as well.

This surgery will hopefully give me the much needed pain relief and my mobility back. I am only able to move around with a walker and basically need help with everything. Thankfully I am able to still work from home.  By the end of the day I am in an intense amount of pain and hopefully that part of this surgery will hopefully correct things.

As many of you know from last year and your donations, I have a high deductible insurance plan, and I must pay $6,300.00 upfront to the hospital, which is due Friday, January 20th, three days before surgery.

This is the very last thing I want to do, is ask for help again from so many that already gave and so many that have needs of their own.

I can’t even begin to put into words, but if you feel so led to give, my family and I would be ever so grateful & appreciative.

The name of my surgery is POSTERIOR LUMBAR BILATERAL L3-4, L4-5 FACETECTOMIES AND FUSION.

My surgery is Monday, January 23rd, not sure what time yet. I’ll be in the hospital 2-3 days is what they say but knowing me, more like a week. “Their” recovery time is 4-6 weeks.

Please let me if you have any questions.

PLEASE share and PLEASE PLEASE pray for a successful surgery on the 23rd and a complete recovery.

Many prayers & much love,
Megan Girvan & family ♥️
