Heidi is an incredibly sweet and kind woman who is dealing with a cancer diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumor that is affecting her liver, a kidney and an ovary. She has recently switched insurance companies and although a lot is covered, she has substantially high deductible. This type of cancer requires a team of specialists that have very tight availability that can be difficult to schedule with. To combat the stress of future appointments and trying to navigate time off with upcoming procedures and the process of healing, Heidi and her support system thought it would be best to take some time off of work.
