Help with Heathers medical and living needs!

Hi, My name is Kristy and I am starting this fundraiser for my dear friends Heather and Terri. The money will be used for any medical or living expenses they may need while Heather is learning to live life differently. Wednesday, January 19th, her mom Terri found her on the bathroom floor, unable to move. She was rushed to the ER where they learned she had a massive stroke on the left side of her brain. She is not able to talk or move the right side of her body. They hope to be able to start physical therapy in about a month, but they have been told to expect 6 months to a year before they start seeing results and a very real possibility there will not be a full recovery.

I met Heather, whom we lovingly refer to as Smilkies, 20 years ago when she was a young single mom of two adorable boys, Dillon and Zach. She has always worked her tail off to provide for them and though it was hard, she made it through. Fast forward 6 years and we found ourselves pregnant at the same time with our 3rd child. That's when she added sweet Kayla to her brood. Once again she tirelessly worked to provide a good home for her children. In 2013, devastation hit their family when her stepdad Rick passed away from cancer. After this devastating loss, Terri moved in so they could help each other out. Both working hard to make ends meet. They have had many stressful moments over the years but have made it through. They found out earlier this month that their landlord needs to move back into the home they have rented for the past 5 years. This was a very sudden and unexpected blow to them and they stressfully started trying to find a rental. They have applied at several places but have not yet been approved. As you can imagine, Heather's stroke is going to make this process much harder. Terri is now trying to find them a place to live, take care of Kayla, stay with Heather as much as possible, plus having to continue to work to make ends meet. I cannot imagine the amount of stress she is under, so I am truly hoping that this gofund me can alleviate some of her stress and help them get back on their feet again.

I do not take asking for donations lightly, but these are two genuinely deserving women in need of some help. They would both do anything for anyone. Please be there for them now in their time of need. If you cannot help at this time, please at least share this message. If you would prefer to give in some other way (cash, gift cards, food, etc.), please reach out to me, Terri, or any friend you know of hers, and we will be happy to get them what you are graciously offering. I will post updates here as I get them. Please continue to pray for a full recovery. I believe in miracles and know God can heal her in ways the Dr's might not be able to.
