Help with healing and recovery

Last week Monday I went into the hospital for a standard knee replacement surgery. I was told the procedure would last an hour, and I would be released the same day. After being anesthetized at 11:44AM, I woke up later ready to be sent home. I had to be told after waking that later was actually 8:33PM, and that home wasn't happening yet. I was in incredible pain, and wearing the brace seen in the photo. This was confusing and disheartening. The next day I was told by my surgeon that he cut my tendon by mistake, and that I would be wearing this very heavy brace for the next few weeks. I am unable to be alone at home or do even the most basic movements unassisted. My teenage daughter spent the week home with me, missing activities vital during this final year of her high school career.
Limited physical therapy begins next week. I have missed the critical first week of therapy that would have assisted with regaining full range of motion for the new knee, and my restrictive insurance won't cover transport to and from therapy. This also delays the start of my new job, set for December 13th.
I am a struggling single mom, and would sincerely appreciate any help with the medical and basic survival needs we now have to meet. This is going to be a long journey to recovery, and we really need help.
Thank you.
