UPDATE: We have an appointment on the 28th, and hoping we can get straight through to her surgery. I just want to say again thank you all so much for your help with this journey! We appreciate it so much, I am so humble to know all the love we are surrounded with. I will continue to keep you all posted xx
I never thought I would bring myself to make one of these, but here we are. Well, we all had a rough year, and more, so I could use a little help this time. My Harley girl's birthday is coming up, in a week. Feb 2!! Unfortunately, my girl is in pain and its in her mouth. After 2 grand of vet bills spent, in the last 3 months, I finally have a vet who tells me she has phase III of periodontal disease, which has infected 15 of her teeth that need to be taken out. It has already caused some nerve damage and could get worse the longer I wait. If you know Harley, you may also know that she has been dealing with this jaw pain for a little more than a year now, maybe longer, because I was told by other vets that she was fine, but it's been an ongoing journey to get any real answers. Her jaw chatters as a result of the nerve damage, and it hurts me to keep making her waiting for this surgery, because I just can not drop another 3-4 grand to get this done, any time soon. She already had 4 teeth taken out. But of course, pet insurance doesn't cover periodontal disease, and I was estimated $3000-$5000 to get this done. With added expenses for recovering medications. I know some people have reached out and suggested I check out of state vets, for potentially a cheaper price, but I do not have a car here in NYC, to bring her there for dental surgery and back. I'm having a hard time paying rent this month, on top of a recent rent increase, bills, expenses, being out of work, and Covid popping in and out whenever it wants, there is a lot I am handling at the moment, and truly this is the last thing I wish to worry about right now. You all know how much I love my crazy pup, and I know you all love her, too. She's my big sweet baby who makes my life just a bit better, and I no longer want her to be in pain. If you can help, that'll be cool, if you can't, thats also okay. I appreciate you just sharing this. I know we all have something we're trying to get through. Thank you so much, my dears.
