This is Gwyn, he’s my 2-4 year old cat that I rescued from outside. He was sickly and weak, so I brought him in, nursed him back to health and he has been my shadow/sidekick ever since
Gwyn was an indoor cat, who had been abandoned outside by his previous owner. I feel blessed to have found him; he is so so very important to me.
This morning Gwyn got himself into some trouble, and electrocuted himself. When I woke up this morning, I found him locked onto an electrical cord, unable to let go. He was kicking trying to free himself. I jumped right up and separated him from it. He was seizing for about 2 minutes. We laid him down and did light chest compressions which led him to finally move and meow. I rushed him to the local emergency vet where they let me know he had fluid in his lungs (which I could already hear) and his tongue was charred pretty bad. The only thing they can do is keep him for now for monitoring, give him pain meds and oxygen.
Currently, the estimated bill is between $3,500 and $5000. Normally I would never turn to the public for help but I’ve recently had to put out for my own medical bills so this hits at a bad time but I would do anything for Gwyn. I can’t even think about the worst-case scenario. Positive thoughts are appreciated. Thank you
