Help With Gibby’s Expenses Post Double Lung Transplant

Hi, our names are Miranda, Robby, Dylan, Maddie, and Stephen, and we’ve joined forces to raise funds for our best friend – Daniel Gibb, better known to all of us as “Gibby.”

Though he’s so full of spirit and laughter you would scarcely know it, for all 26 years of his life Gibby has struggled and suffered with a chronic degenerative lung disease. Recently, the disease progressed to such an extent that Gibby was living with only 10% breathing capacity, reliant on oxygen 24/7. He became eligible for a double lung transplant, which he received on July 7th 2024. The surgery was successful, but Gibby now faces a long journey of recovery and rehabilitation. He will spend the next 30 days in the hospital followed by a minimum of 90 days on bed rest, and will require intensive care for the first year post-transplant.

While Gibby's medical bills are mostly covered by insurance, he needs assistance with his essential costs and living expenses during his recovery period. Gibby’s recovery requires round-the-clock care, which means his mother will need to take time off work to support him. This leaves the family without a primary source of income. Who is Gibby and Why Should You Care?

Gibby is the single most resilient person we know. Despite a lifetime of too many personal and medical challenges to list, his spirit and his smile have never wavered. Gibby is the guy who lights up any room he enters, who makes friends with anybody he meets, who electrifies everyone around him with his own enthusiasm for life and adventure. Always ready with the funniest jokes, the most sincere empathy, and the most profound well of experience, Gibby consistently shows up when his loved ones need a helping hand. Today we owe him the same.

An exceptional artist, musician, and designer, he’s never not pouring his whole heart into one project or another, be it a painting for a gallery, a Soundcloud song, a T-shirt or a piece of furniture for a friend, etc.

His ability to stay positive, productive, and selfless in the face of any adversity is something everyone who knows him stands in awe of and strives to emulate just a small fraction of.
