Help with Gary Parent's end of life Leukemia bills
Donation protected
On March 27th Gary was transported to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance due to him having trouble breathing and was diagnosed with Pneumonia. He was in the Intensive Care Unit for 4 days, and during this time the Doctors diagnosed him with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APML). As Gary has been living in Chronic pain since February 1994 due to a work injury, he will not be seeking treatment for the Leukemia. Gary was released from Baystate and returned home with Hospice Care. We are keeping him as comfortable as possible until he passes. As he is not seeking treatment, the oncology team decided not to perform a bone marrow test which would tell us how advanced the cancer is. Because he has lost over 20 lbs in the last 2 months, is no longer eating, and is sleeping a lot, it is believed it will not be long. I have taken a leave of absence from work (FMLA) to care for Gary and spend every possible minute by his side. Due to the type of medical insurance we have, there is a $7,000 deductible before the insurance covers costs. This time is very difficult for our family, and any amount donated is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and helping us through this difficult time.
