Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I am a single mom with a 6 year old son, and I’m reaching out during a very challenging time in my life, hoping for a little support as I work to rebuild and create a stable home for myself and my little one

After being left to handle the rent of my previous apartment alone, I faced eviction and an overwhelming amount of financial strain. In the midst of trying to stay afloat, I had to borrow money, take out loans, and juggle bills, which caused my debt to snowball. It has been an incredibly stressful and humbling experience.

Thankfully, I was able to move into a new apartment through a subsidized housing program. This was meant to be a fresh start for my 6 year old and I. The program initially promised assistance with furniture and basic necessities like plates, utensils, and other household items. Unfortunately, due to funding freezes, they are temporarily not able to help.

To make matters worse, the living conditions in my new apartment have been difficult. There are ongoing plumbing issues, broken appliances, and other problems that the landlord has not fixed — largely because the program was supposed to pay my first two months of rent, and that payment is still outstanding. As a result, I’m living without furniture and dealing with issues in my apartment that I can’t afford to fix on my own.

I’m asking for help to purchase basic furniture, cover essential household needs, and get some relief from the debt that has piled up during this transition. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference in helping me build a safe, comfortable home and get back on my feet. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this with others would mean so much.
