Hello Friends,

 

Our names are Ulli Diaz and Laura Culbreth and we are close friends of Catalina Piña and Giovanni Olvera.

 

As many of you are aware, Catalina will be losing her beloved son Gio - much, much too soon. Catalina and Giovanni had a beautiful plan on how to proceed with the end of his life's story, in a way in which both felt comfortable. They planned on documenting his final weeks - once his determination to have his dialysis catheter removed took place. They planned on eating and drinking freely and experiencing life in a way Gio has been unable to do for far too long. But life had other plans and unfortunately, Gio is slipping away much faster than planned or expected. His body is tired and weak from all the years of pain and suffering.

 

As Catalina prepares to enter this new chapter of her life, we are kindly reaching out to ask for help to fund the funeral costs for Gio so that he can be given the proper send-off that he deserves. Catalina has always been a selfless woman, serving her community, her students, her friends, and her family. Catalina is losing the love of her life, her rock, her baby, the "wind beneath her wings."

 

There will be many dark days ahead as Catalina learns to cope with her new life. While she does that, we thought we would help alleviate some of the upcoming stress and financial pain and ask her friends, her people, to help to cover the funeral arrangements.
