Hi, for those who don't know me, my name is Vickie Stricklind, and I am raising funds for my husband's funeral and memorial. I am in Bakersfield California. I am heartbroken at losing my husband. His name was Roger Stricklind, and this coming Thanksgiving would have been our 49th wedding anniversary.
He was diagnosed in September 2021 with Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade IV. It is an aggressive and fast growing brain tumor. It was cancer. He had a Craniatomy at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center to remove the tumor, but we knew that theycould not get it all and so he began treatment of radiation and chemotherapy.
In July his MRI showed the tumor was back. It was again partially removed at UCLA. He developed hydrocephalus and had a shunt put in as well as other complications. Once the pathology came back, they realized it was no longer Glioblastoma but it was now Gliosarcom, and it had spread to his spine and to his liver. He was in the hospital at UCLA for five weeks and two days. I was so blessed to be able to stay with him the entire time. I never left his side.
He passed on Thursday, October 27th at 11:12 am with family by his side.
I was blessed to love this man for 49 years and I was blessed to care for him the last year of his life. I love you honey and I know you are no longer in pain and you are no longer suffering and I wait for the day that we will be reunited.
Please help me with the last thing I will ever do for my husband, Roger.
