Help with Funeral Expenses for Bill Carty, My Best Friend
Donation protected
My name is Charles Stephens and I'm writing to tell you about my best friend Bill Carty, who passed away today.
Bill has been my best friend for most of my life. He liked to pretend that he didn't really like people, but if you needed someone, no matter what for, he was the guy you called.
He loved animals, especially his dogs, Lilly and Cash. Lilly has spinal problems and lost the use of her back legs when she was 14 year old. Many people would have had her put down, but Bill worked with her constantly, helping her recover, and she eventually regained partial use of her legs. During that recovery time, he had to help her use the bathroom, keep her clean, and administer all sorts of drugs. Like I said, most people would have given up, but it wasn't in his nature to do so.
When I got divorced, Bill was the only thing that kept me together. I've felt like I owed him ever since, because I was a mess and could have easily ended up homeless or in jail. But Bill made sure that didn't happen. He made sure I ate and showered and kept my job. At numerous points in my life, Bill has been there like that. I never had to ask for help, he just showed up and lifted me out of my funk.
You can ask any of his friends and family and they'll all say the same: When they needed help, Bill was there, regardless of what was needed.
He liked to play video games, and rpgs. He was a huge Star Wars fan, and was always hoping for more, better Star Wars stuff. Recently we watched Andor, and it became one of his favorites. He said it was a good show for our times.
There's so much else to say, but I'm struggling because he's gone and he was just here. So here's the pitch: If you love Bill, or his family, or me, or any of his friends, please read, share, and donate if you can. All expenses will go to funeral expenses first, and I'll post details here as I get them.
Thanks for reading. Hug your loved ones tight. He was my brother in all but blood.
