Thursday, July 17th, 2025 Mark Cantrell of Mechanicsburg, OH passed unexpectedly in his home.
As many of you know, the financial strain of arranging a funeral can be daunting. Sadly, Mark did not have life insurance to cover these unforeseen expenses, leaving the family with a significant burden during an already challenging time.
We humbly ask for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, would help ease the financial load of the funeral cost.
We understand that times are hard for many, and we are incredibly grateful for all the love, prayers, and thoughts the family has already received. If you're able to donate or share this request, your kindness will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time.
Mark Cantrell, 65, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in his residence.
Mark was born on January 13, 1960, in Urbana, Ohio to Granville Lee Cantrell and Elizabeth Ann (Cantrell) Cordell.
Mark was an avid outdoorsman who found some of his favorite moments of peace in nature, where he loved fishing, hiking, and tending to his gardens, especially with his dog, and best buddy, Smoke by his side. Most of all, however, Mark’s proudest moments in life were the ones spent loving and supporting his kids and grandkids. He loved each and every one of his grandkids dearly, and they all held special places in his heart, especially his Saydie Bug. Mark was truly salt of the earth and never met a stranger who he couldn’t find something in common with. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mark is survived by his mother; daughter, Sasha (Jeremiah) Byerly; sons, Tyler (Kylie) Cantrell and Michael Cantrell; 6 grandchildren, Malorie, Colby, Caileigh, Saydie, Emmett, Brynne; 1 great-grandchild, Dakota; brother Michael (Tammy) Cantrell; as well as 3 nieces, Meghan, Sarah, and Jennifer.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, as well as a baby brother, Gary Joseph Cantrell.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Fairview Mutual Cemetery, Mutual, Ohio with Pastor Jeremy Stout officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vernon Funeral Homes in care of the family, 257 W. Main St. Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044.
Arrangements are entrusted to SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
