Help With Funds for Surgery
3 years ago, July 16th, 2017, my buddy Nick and I were in a very serious car crash. The crash left me with an above knee amputation. I’ve had a normal prosthetic now for a little over 2 years. The normal prosthesis set up causes me a lot pain, gives me a bad limp, I get blisters and rashes, soreness, you name it. My prosthetic team fixes all of my problems anytime that I have one. It’s just a matter of time before something else changes and causes another issue... I started doing a lot of research before I even had a prosthetic of all the technology that was out there for amputees. I came across this surgery which is called osseointegration (video below). At the time, they were only performing this surgery over seas in Australia. Obviously, I didn’t have the money or the strength to just hop on a plane then. At the beginning of this year, I decided to look into it again. Fortunately, I found a doctor in NYC who had a very good rep for this surgery. On a whim, my mom and I flew to NY to see if I was a candidate for this. Through many prayers and the grace of God, I was the perfect candidate. My time has now come to get my life back. I got a surgery date for September 2nd! Surgeries are very expensive and I can use all the help I can get! If you have an extra dollar at the end of the week, I ask for your help with the funding for this trip and the surgery.
