Back in January of this year, my little Boston Terrier jumped up onto my chest which brought about quite a bit of pain. After rubbing the area she hit, I found that there was a solid mass that definitely didn't feel like it belonged there. Comparing it to the other breast, it was significantly different in texture, size and shape. It troubled me so I made an appointment with my doctor.
The next week, my doctor examined the mass and he was concerned and ordered a mammogram and ultrasound. After having these tests, a mass was found at the 12 o'clock position just under the nipple. A biopsy was performed a week later and its findings came back with a diagnosis of Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) due to the size of the mass.
A mastectomy was performed which removed all of the cancerous tumor as well as any existing breast tissue. Pathology came back negative but I have many doctors appointments as well as chemotherapy ahead of me which will definitely inhibit any ability to work and provide for my family.
My family and I would appreciate any assistance that anyone is willing to offer as the medical bills have been piling up and our funding falling short.
