Help with final expenses for Kelsie Knoll.

On June 4th, 2021 my worst nightmare came true. My Daughter Kelsie Knoll was taken by ambulance to Franciscian Hospital.. There we found out that she had a horrible infection in her blood called MRSA. The infection went too long without her knowing. The doctors told us she went septic, causing the infection to spread to her heart and her brain and eventually causing all her other organs to fail. Kelsie also has holes in her lungs , bleeding on the brain, and severe Pneumonia.

She was immediately transferred to South Bend Memorial because they had better specialists to handle this infection.

South Bend Memorial did heart surgery to vacuum the infection out of her heart. They were able to get one valve clear of the infection. This left 2 other heart valves that were still infected. Specialists decided to give her 3 of the best antibiotics to fight the infection because they could not safely vacuum the other valves out.

On Tuesday June 9th, 2021 I met with Kelsie's care team made up of 6 doctors, 4 nurses and caseworkers. They told me that the antibiotics were not working and that she is worse than when she came in. Now all four heart valves have deteriorated and 3 of her main organs were shutting down. Her heart, liver and Kidneys. they said her heart is fighting a losing battle.

They gave us 2 choices, but we were not ready to make a decision. I wanted Kelsie to make her own decision if she could.

The doctors took her off sedation, paused pain meds, and took her off of the Ventilator so she could talk to her family and the team of doctors caring for her. They gave her 2 options.

Option 1: The team stated that they would do open heart surgery and give her a man made heart. This would mean she would be on life support by way of a Tracheotomy, a feeding tube, and ventilator for several several months of a lot of pain and discomfort for her, then the end result be fatal still.

Option 2: Withdraw care and make her comfortable as possible. This would mean that Kelise would pass away naturally.

Kelsie was awake and coherent when the team explained her options to her. She chose to be comfortable and not suffer any longer.

I talked with her last night and she said to me," Mom, I'm not scared. I will be with my dad, my paw paw, Hayden( her brother) and my son. And I'll be waiting for you mom". I'm so heartbroken.

Kelsie's blood pressure dropped after visiting hours were over last night. The nurses told us to come back because they didn't think she was going to make it through the night.

Kelsie is still with us as of right now, but not for long.

Kelsie has 3 living children and we have no life insurance on her to give her a proper burial. Please help if you can. If you can not help we understand, but please at least share this post so that maybe someone else can help us give her the burial she deserves.

Thank you for all of your kind words and prayers. Please pray for Kelsie to go to the Lord peacefully.
