Letter to my Parents
Dear Mom and Dad,
It saddens me, as I often hear of kids having hardships growing up, being abused or coming from broken families but I rarely hear from the kids that had great childhoods and really enjoyed growing up where and how they did.
I was, fortunately, one of the latter childhoods. This isn’t for bragging or to say how much better my parents where than those less fortunate than I was. It is but a THANK YOU!
You were there when I needed you, even at those times where I felt I didn’t need you but.....I really did. Thank you!
You DID come to my school activities and you DID support the things that I ventured into, rather you knew I would hate it or not! Looking back, my kids do half of the things I did when I was in school and it’s still tough to keep up with, not to mention, totally exhausting! Yet, you both did it and acted like you enjoyed every minute of it. You even encouraged Grandparents and other family members to come and watch all of my shenanigans! Thank you!
You encouraged me to do things that I loved. Allowing me to do so gave me important skills and tools that I would use and still use to this day. I own a business that, unbeknownst to me, was being developed at the ripe old age of 5. Thank you!
You taught me to love, help and encourage other people. All People! No matter who or what they believed in or looked like. Thank you!
Most importantly, you loved me for you I am. You expressed it and showed it to me all of the time, even when I was in trouble for doing some of the stupid stunts I pulled. Thank you!
I love you Mom and Dad! Thank you for allowing me the honor of having a great childhood and for allowing me to know what it feels like to be surrounded by a big family who truly loves you and encourages you.
I wish I would have said all of this to my Dad while he was alive. Please don’t wait until your parents are gone to realize that all of the things that your parents (hopefully) did for you as a kid, both big and small, were going to be those things that truly helped you become that great person you are today.
Thank you, Mom and Dad! I love you both. Your grateful son –
Christopher
Fred.....what a special human being. Quiet, witty, intelligent and kind. Sandy's love, rock, chauffeur, chef, her everything. Fred lost his six week battle with AML/HLH December 14th. We were all floored by this very sudden diagnosis of a rare form of Leukemia and what followed so soon after. Fred will be greatly missed by, not only, his family and friends, but his MS family. Fred founded the area "MS Caretaker" support group in 2015 and helped so many families in NV.
Now is the time when we can take this opportunity to show Chris and his family how much we love them. Chris Ranney has done SO MUCH for so many in our New Mexico filmmaking community ... he's helped 'raise up' so many of us through his work in film and as the owner of Sol Acting Academy - let's show our love for him as we help his family raise much-needed funds for the final expenses of Chris' beloved father, Fred Ranney.
