Help with Final Expenses and Burial for Thelma

Donation protected

My aunt Thelma was a strong, beautiful soul. She had battled cancer twice before and beat it, but this last time, she was taken from us by that horrible illness, but she fought until the very last second for her life, if only to stay alive long enough to say goodbye to her family.

For those who didn't know her too well, she might have seemed a bit strict, but really she was the kindest, sweetest person and always extended that natural kindness to those in need. She was full of joy, and had a love for life, always open to new experiences. She liked to play games, and more so, loved to spend time with her family. She was the happiest when we were all together, laughing, and enjoying each other's company, and often treated us to her delicious food. She loved us so much, and we just won't be the same without her,she has left a void in our hearts that may never be filled.

My name is Johanna, I was her niece. But really, she she was more of another mother to me. My first memories are of her, cooking in the kitchen while I sat on a stool, and asked her endless questions about the food. The stern looks she would give me when I was being unruly often melted away into a smile as she urged me to behave. I spent a lot of my early childhood with her, and I would teach her how to play all sorts of games as I grew up, most of which she would eventually beat me in. She was a savant at UNO, she mastered Pogs, and absolutely dominated at dominoes. In turn, Aunt Thelma taught me how to be a good person, how to show love through food, and how to appreciate the time we have with those we love.-- Her smile when we played together, the proud, warm look she gave me, when I would cook delicious food for her. These are the memories I will try to hold on to.

I am here, to raise funds, from friends, and kind strangers alike in this time of need. Hopefully, within a month we can reach the goal. The money would go to her eldest son and daughter, who need help with the funeral and burial costs, and to make up lost wages to prevent eviction. As they took time off work to care for her, and make sure their mother's last months of life were as comfortable for her as possible.

I thank you all for your kindness, and consideration, and even if you haven't the means to, thank you for taking the time to read.
